Dr. Shalamon Duke is an Educator, Multipassionate Entrepreneur, Business Startup Advisor, Community Advocate, and Transformational Thought Leader who elevates others to reach their full potential through meaningful connections. With a Doctorate Degree from the University of Southern California, a master’s degree from San Diego State University, and bachelor’s from Grambling State University, Dr. Duke is passionate about educating the next generation of leaders in the workplace. Dr. Shalamon Duke has been an Educator for over 20 years and has served in many administrative capacities in the community colleges. His major functions as an Educator surround organizational and educational leadership, diversity and accessibility, and student success. Additionally, his research has focused on the course-taking patterns of students and how these patterns may or may not lead towards successful outcomes, including the disparity of success amongst college going students based on socioeconomic environments. In addition to being a lifelong educator, Dr. Duke is also a Multi-passionate Entrepreneur with 10+ years of business development experience. As a visionary, Dr. Duke has developed products and services tied to education and professional growth. He is the founder of 2 businesses including a virtual mentor networking software platform that provides professional mentorship strategies to colleges and companies and a business consulting company that assist start ups in growth acceleration. Dr. duke is also Partner in a growth and relationship management firm; a software development, marketing firm; a cybersecurity firm; and a company the promotes live music performances worldwide. He also is the President/CEO of a non profit business accelerator and sits on the board of a number of other companies and organizations, including the Linclon Club of San Diego.
As a Startup Business Consultant, Dr. Duke is known for his successful executive coaching engagements with organizational leaders as well as aspiring business owners, specifically in the startup sector. He has provided training and speaking sessions to audiences on the topics of diversity, equity and inclusion; business growth strategy; educational and organizational leadership, and more. When not mentoring students, growing organizations, or coaching fledgling businesses to success, Dr. Duke spends his time serving as a Community Advocate, leveraging his business acumen and professional connections to bring awareness and opportunity to causes that matter, specifically black men & mental health. As a Speaker & Transformational Thought Leader, he has held numerous speaking engagements nationally and throughout the Southern California region, including at Association of California Community College Administrators (ACCCA), the Annual Conference of the National Community College Hispanic Council (NCCHC), and the Annual Conference of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). He is the author of a children’s book geared towards black boys and fathers, and a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated. A relentless optimist, Dr. Duke believes there is no failure, only feedback. More than anything, he is a philanthropist and desires to help people win, and believes in the power of trust, honesty, and relationship building to lead to successful outcomes in personal and business life. He is a proud father and active member in his community.
